Direct shear test
The direct shear test was conducted on the ASS mixes (ASSM 1 6) as per the ASTM D3080, 2011, and the results obtained are given in Table 3.
Direct shear tests were performed using a fully automated direct shear apparatus from GDS Instruments, called the GDS Shearbase System (Hook, UK), as shown in Figure 4, in accordance with ASTM D-3080.
Direct shear tests were conducted on the frozen LHS-1E lunar highlands simulant at moisture contents of 5%, 7%, 9%, 11%, and 13% under normal stresses of 1 kPa, 10 kPa and 20 kPa.
